The month of February is almost here, which means Casey's General Stores are gearing up for what is hoped to be the most successful year of fundraising yet for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Casey's 2017 goal is to raise $1.2 million this February. This comes after officially being inducted into the Miracle Million Club in 2016 upon raising $1.1 million.
"Giving back to our communities is part of our core values," said Casey's General Stores President and CEO Terry Handley. "It is hard to imagine a better cause than helping children and families going through a challenging illness or injury."
Customers are encouraged to donate through the month of February. For one dollar, customers can proudly display their name on a miracle balloon in a Casey's store, as well as receive coupons to redeem in store. The donations support training and research, help pay uncompensated care and purchase equipment for local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals members.
Since 1983, more than $5 billion in total has been raised by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. There are 170 member hospitals that treat around 32 million children across the U.S. and Canada every year.
Casey's is dedicated to staying involved to the communities it serves by giving back. In 2016, Casey's raised a combined total of over $5.2 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Hope for the Warriors, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
In 2017, Casey's will be raising funds in store for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Special Olympics, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and Hope for the Warriors.
