Casey's General Stores will be teaming up with the Muscular Dystrophy Association this August to raise money for the MDA Summer Camp. Casey's 2017 goal is to raise $1.75 million, which follows the $1.5 million raised in 2016.

It costs $2,000 to send one child to the week-long camp, but it's all at no cost to their families thanks to support from Casey's. Throughout the month of August, customers can help by purchasing $1 or $5 MDA pinups at any store location to proudly display their name in support of MDA and in exchange for coupons redeemable in store.

Kids with muscular dystrophy and related life-threatening illnesses face daily challenges, but this camp allows them to discover new interests while also gaining self-confidence, making lifelong friends and experiencing independence away from home. With one-on-one counseling and a 24-hour on-site medical staff, things like swimming, horseback riding and zip-lining are made possible for kids who may have never had the opportunity otherwise.

"MDA Summer Camp allows me to do my version of walking, running and playing all sports," one camper said, "I feel free."
