Casey's Accepts Award at Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies

Casey's Accepts Special Olympics Award

May 31, 2017

Casey's General Stores was named 2017 Outstanding Corporate Partner of the Year on Thursday, May 25, at the Special Olympics opening ceremonies held at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa. Vice President of Marketing Mike Richardson was in attendance to accept the award.

"As a longtime supporter of Special Olympics, Casey's is so honored and proud to accept an award from such a tremendous organization," said Richardson. "We look forward to our corporate-wide fundraisers this June, as we set our sights high with a goal of raising $1 million."

In 2014, Casey's started the Casey's Cup Campaign in Iowa stores only, but will partner with Coca-Cola to extend the campaign company-wide to stores in all 15 states this June. During the month of June when customers purchase a 44 oz. beverage of their choice, a portion of the proceeds will go toward supporting Special Olympics.

Along with the Casey's Cup Campaign, Casey's and Coca-Cola are launching an additional company-wide fundraiser in stores for the month of June. For one dollar, customers can proudly display their name on a pinup in a Casey's store, as well as receive a coupon to redeem in store.

Between both of these fundraisers, Casey's goal is to raise $1 million in the month of June. In the three years that the Casey's Cup Campaign ran in Iowa stores only, approximately $87,000 was raised to support Special Olympics Iowa.

Casey's has supported Special Olympics in various ways over the years through summer games, fun runs, auctions, trivia nights, bowling, polar plunges, and more.
