Shelby Clayton has been with Casey's for 3 years, and her impressive career during this short period of time makes her an excellent person to feature for our next Employee Spotlight. After graduating college, she was intrigued by Casey's strong Iowa roots, and noted when she came in for her interview, she could immediately tell that Casey's was a family oriented business. "People treated each other like they knew one another for their whole lives; it didn't feel like a corporation," she said.
In her first role as a Store Operations Documentation Assistant, she assisted store managers and other members of field management by answering numerous calls and serving as the contact person in the Store Operations Department at the Corporate Headquarters. In addition, she was responsible for writing and formatting training manuals. Casey's makes a conscious effort to help employees work toward their career goals, and Shelby is a great example of this.
She was recently promoted to the position of Store Operations Supervisor, where she will focus on supporting Area Supervisors and District Managers, along with planning annual training events. She's excited for this opportunity as it will allow her the chance to get to know even more people within the company, while continuing to assist our store employees. When asked what she loves most about working at Casey's, Shelby stated, "I'm not really coming to a job, I'm coming to a building where it's a family."
